Misti Hill

MACP

About

Misti has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University. She brings a warm, relational, and grounded presence to her work, drawing on both professional training and a rich tapestry of lived experiences. She is deeply committed to creating a non-judgmental, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to move toward healing and growth.

Her approach integrates person-centered and strength-based principles with mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Misti supports clients in building self-awareness, developing practical coping strategies, and reconnecting with their own resilience. She believes that empathy, authenticity, and acceptance form the foundation for meaningful change. She also emphasizes the importance of emotional regulation, as learning to understand and manage emotions plays a vital role in mental health, reducing distress, and fostering healthier relationships with oneself and others.

Misti works with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, and addiction, and has devoted much of her practice to supporting youth and Indigenous communities. She offers culturally sensitive, affirming care to people of all genders, sexualities, and backgrounds, including members of the 2SLGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities.

Guided by a trauma-informed and attachment-aware perspective, Misti values collaboration and ensures each client feels safe and supported in their therapeutic journey. She is passionate about empowering individuals to discover their inner strengths, fostering both healing and hope.
